TRADITIONAL HAND BROOMS

When the world was a world, every home, kitchen, and garden had a hand broom made from plant fibres. The hand broom is an everyday, utilitarian and beautiful object for dusting crumbs, sweeping leaves, or collecting ashes from the fire.

These brooms are made with interesting, simple, and efficient knots, woven in all kinds of ways and weaves that simultaneously “decorate” and provide durability. In this course, we’ll see how to make some of these plant fibre knots, and we’ll make traditional hand brooms with different Mediterranean fibres.

Workshop aimed at creators, artisans, artists, or anyone interested in plant fibre weaving, crafts, and artistic creation. For adults or children, 9 years and older, accompanied by an adult. Ask any questions.
