ON THE GROUND – CATTAIL
On the ground is a proposal to make “corrillo” or a circle: a context to weave together and enter the repetitive and contemplative timing of craftsmanship. It is an opportunity to delve deeper into the weaving of local soft fibres.
We will focus on cattail or bulrush weaving through the technique of plaiting and spiral sewing. We will see different popular pieces made with this technique that can serve as a guide. We will make a handbag or breadbin type piece.
Workshop aimed at creators, artisans, artists, or anyone interested in plant fibre weaving, crafts, and artistic creation. For adults or children, 9 years and older, accompanied by an adult. Ask any questions.
