On the ground is a proposal to make “corrillo” or huddle: a context to weave together and enter the repetitive and contemplative times of craftsmanship. It is an occasion to delve deeper into the weaving of local soft fibres.
We will focus on cattail or bulrush weaving through the technique of plaiting and spiral sewing. We will see different popular pieces made with this technique that can serve as a guide. We will make a handbag or purse type piece.
Workshop aimed at creators, artists, artisans or people interested and curious about plant fibre weaving, crafts and artistic creation. The program is designed primarily for adults, but children ages 9 and up can participate with an adult. Consult for any questions.
