Wheat, along the rice and corn, has been one of the essentials cereals in the world’s diet for centuries. Wheat has been popularly called “peasants’ gold” or humble people’s gold, as it is a transversal food of rural life. From wheat, flour; from the flour, the bread, and from the bread, life. The straw houses the chicken and feeds the cattle, fills a pillow and acts as a basket.
Focus on the essentials of the food. In the process, relationships appear between different ideas: earthly and ritual, gold and straw, order and beauty, popular and spiritual. It is an attempt to value a subject closely linked to the land, everyday life and rural communities.
