Wombs – The void as a beginning

A circular journey between light and shadow
2020

Straw womb. Willow, lime and straw.
White wombs. Willow and lime.
Black wombs. Willow, lime and oxides.

I observe the void and I discover the condition of every form. The origin of all life: the womb of the earth holding the possibility of being. It is in the dark nothingness of the night that I aspire to the birth of the day.

The void becomes form and dissolves, generating a rhythm, a cycle of beginning and return: the achievement of shadow and light, of sky and earth, of matter and subtlety, maintain the pulse of a circular journey.

I honour life when I discover the beauty in the shadow that coexists, in the pause before the action or in the reflection of calm water.
